Cancellation Policies

STUDENT RESCHEDULE & CANCELLATIONS

Due to the small instructor to student ratio of each course, there will be no refunds for student cancellations. However, it is possible to reschedule your course date in accordance with the following fee schedule:

  • 14+ days notice: you can move to another course date with a $50 fee.
  • 7 – 14 days notice: you can move to another course date with a fee of 25% of the total course cost.
  • Less than 7 days notice or no notice; you may lose your full course payment.

If you are registered for a course that requires additional fees (i.e. a retreat course with built-in accommodation and transportation costs) and you do not give at least 2-weeks notice of change, then such fees may be deducted from your course deposit as well as any change fee.

INSTRUCTOR CANCELLATIONS

As your instructor I will do everything possible to avoid having to cancel or postpone our courses. However, there may be a few times when this will be unavoidable. If there is a full or partial course cancellation either due to inclement weather or facility closure, students will be alerted to changes immediately and will be able to reschedule at a later date.

Weather postponement: if an open-water session needs to be cancelled or postponed due to poor weather conditions then we will substitute them with pool sessions whenever possible.

Cancellations beyond instructor’s control: if a pool facility, boat or open water site has to cancel/close for reasons specific to them, when possible, open-water (depth) sessions will be substituted with pool sessions.

In either case, if same-day substitutions are not possible, the student’s may reschedule pool sessions for $50/day during a future course date.

If a student must complete the required open-water course segments, they may do so for $75/day during a future course date.

PRIVATE GROUP COURSES & COACHING SESSION CANCELLATIONS

If you need to change or cancel a private course or coaching session and I am able to fill the date, then your payment will be applied to a future date. If those dates are unable to be filled then there will be no refund. The same applies to members of your group needing to cancel/change dates. Individual’s requesting private courses will be responsible for filling and providing payment for all requested student spots.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT DETAILS

To secure your spot in a course, both your registration and either a 50% deposit or full payment must be received. Any outstanding course balance is due by the start of the course.
